ABOUT THE BOOK
This book “Integrated Model for Sound Internal Functioning and Sustainable Value Creation: A Solution for Corporate Environments Post Covid-19 Pandemic” is a must-read for anyone who leads people. It provides insight and understanding about how to conduct sound business practices in a manner that does not compromise the ability of the future generation to meet theirs. Following the call made by various key role players such as country leaders, institutions, regulators, business leaders, civil society and environmental groups, amongst others. The call was encouraged by various corporate failures, issues of global warming and global financial crises. These unfortunate events led to the formation of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) and the development of integrated reporting practices. The IIRC promotes its practices as having the ability to enable an integrated business thinking that considers all factors that influence a corporation’s ability to create sustainable value. The purpose of this book is to advocate, explain and demonstrate the strategic use of the IIRC’s practices as agents of internal change and sustainable value creator within business environments. Since the strategic use of these practices as agents of change is a developing phenomenon, business environments might lack knowledge about how to apply these practices. To close this gap, Dr. Ramaboea developed a conceptually integrated model during her doctoral studies, employing the IIRC practices. The model is presented in this book. The book believes that we can preserve our planet Earth. We just need to see the natural environment, the society, and the business world as one.

Dr. Magdeline Ramaboea is a business executive from South Africa. She has spent more than eighteen years in corporate business environments, both in the public and private sectors. Her area of interest within the business environments has always been about exploring ways in which corporations can be enabled to operate in a sustainable manner that considers the need to preserve the natural environment and enhance societal well-being. This has led her to extensively pursue academic research in business sustainability through PhD in Accounting Sciences with the University of South Africa (Unisa). Dr. Ramaboea’s focus was to research about global business practices that view the environment, society and the business world as inseparable. Her research finds that there was a global call for change in how organisations perceive the role of society, the environment, and its business activities. This call was made by various key role players such as country leaders, institutions, regulators, business leaders, civil society and environmental groups, amongst others.
Her credentials provided her with extensive expertise to develop the above model, which is presented in this book. She is extremely qualified and skilled, and her credentials are globally recognised and are regarded in high esteem. She is also a registered member of several highly regarded professional institutions.
